Understanding ISO

ISO:100  Aperture: f/5.6  Shutter Speed: 4"

ISO:200  Aperture: f/5.6  Shutter Speed: 2"5

ISO:400  Aperture: f/5.6  Shutter Speed: 1"3

ISO:800  Aperture: f/5.6  Shutter Speed: 0"6

ISO:1600  Aperture: f/5.6  Shutter Speed: 0"3

ISO is the measure of a digital camera's sensitivity to light. Technically, ISO allows more or less light into the camera visually creating a more or dark picture depending on the ISO rating. The lower the ISO, the lighter the picture. The higher the ISO, the darker the picture. A low ISO requires a faster shutter speed which requires a low aperture.
